Program Description

Receiving the Holy Spirit in the sacrament of Confirmation does not bring Christian formation to an end. Instead, it is the beginning. A call to a new mission and understanding of Pope Francis as he asks all the baptized to identify as both disciples and missionaries. The anointing received during the sacrament completes baptism and gives the Catholic Christian the fullness of power to live as a disciple of Christ during a time when hope in Christ Jesus is most needed.

Recent research has shown lifelong discipleship has roles and responsibilities for everyone involved in Confirmation: students, parents, and sponsors. Respected ministers Chika Anyanwu, Brian Greenfield, and Robert Feduccia, will speak to each of these roles, giving participants tools and guidance for fulfilling their responsibilities and experiencing the fullness of spirit that comes when our young church members begin to fully embrace their Catholic faith. Welcoming Christ into our lives, our families, and our parishes through the sacrament of Confirmation is an opportunity to deepen our relationship with Him—no matter which role we play in the process—and to participate in the ongoing renewal of our Church.

About EQSaints

“And he gave some as apostles, others as prophets, others as evangelists, others as pastors and teachers, to equip the holy ones for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” – Ephesians 4:11-12

EQSaints exists to equip the people of God for the work of ministry, especially within the parish. In every parish, the Holy Spirit has poured out all of the charisms needed for the parish to fulfill the Church’s mission of evangelization, to worship in spirit and in truth, and to form the hearts and minds of the faithful.
